Hurricane Music Team Earns 28 Nominations In Company's Inaugural Year MusicNL has announced the nominations for its 2023 awards for artists and industry with Hurricane Music team and clients earning a total of 28 nominations in 19 categories. Hurricane Music was nominated for Outstanding Company of the Year, with co-owners Matt Dines and David Shears each earning their first nominations for Industry Professional of the Year. Matt followed up his 2022 Nomination for Producer of the Year with another nomination in the same category for his recent work with artists like Baraka, TXS RED, Summer Bennett, With Violet, Nerve Shack, among others. Hurricane Music is proud to announce that rock trio,  Nerve Shack ,  are joining our management roster.  The last year has been super busy for the young group, having already released 3 singles with the support of  MusicNL . This summer they secured funding from  Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council  to record with  Brian Moncarz: Producer/Mixer  (Alice Cooper/Our Lady Peace/Trews) who will be coming to NL to produce their upcoming single with the Hurricane Music team.

Fresh off the successful release of her first single of 2023 titled "Good Love", Aphrose has just released a brand new, sensational up-tempo track titled "YaYa" on Friday, July 7 2023. With its glittery, Roller-Soul groove, Aphrose's latest single "YaYa" glowingly personifies the feeling of being in love. The feel-good, uptempo song features an inescapable rhythm that envelopes listeners in exuberant harmonies, celebratory lyrics, and a flourishing melody. “I Ain’t Me” is a powerful, moving song about overcoming bullying and finding your voice “I Ain’t Me” is the second-of-two singles that Mackenzie has recorded as part of the 2022 MusicNL NewFound Talent prize package. The heavy themes and darker arrangements balance and contrast her debut single “03”, which is a light-hearted upbeat song about going to bars while underage. Both songs were recorded at Citadel House Music in Lewisporte with producer Dean Stairs (Ana & Eric, Nick Earle, Rosemary Lawton) and mixed and mastered in Mount Pearl by Matt Dines of Hurricane Music (Summer Bennett, Baraka, Nerve Shack). "A Mothers Love is a Blessing". Evelyn Jess was born Jessica Evelyn Bemister. She was named after her Grandmother Evelyn, who passed when Jess was just 7 years old. Years later when thinking of a stage name, Jess chose to take her Grandmother's name first as a tribute to her legacy. Now each time the name appears in lights it will be a shining reminder of her loving memory and joyous spirit. Grandmother Evelyn appreciated Mother's Day. It was always her favorite time of year mainly because her birthday fell in the same week. Therefore no other day seemed more fitting for a celebration than that of the wonderful woman's birthday - May 13th. This passed Mother's Day Weekend - Evelyn Jess certainly did her grandmother proud and lived up to her name with her debut album release concert. She was joined by excellent opening acts Spectrum Queer Choir and Members of Strong Harbour strings, with proceeds from the vent going towards each groups future programming. Audio
