MACKENZIE CRITCH Releases Powerful New Song "I Ain't Me"

“I Ain’t Me” is a powerful, moving song about overcoming bullying and finding your voice

“I Ain’t Me” is the second-of-two singles that Mackenzie has recorded as part of the 2022 MusicNL NewFound Talent prize package. The heavy themes and darker arrangements balance and contrast her debut single “03”, which is a light-hearted upbeat song about going to bars while underage.

Both songs were recorded at Citadel House Music in Lewisporte with producer Dean Stairs (Ana & Eric, Nick Earle, Rosemary Lawton) and mixed and mastered in Mount Pearl by Matt Dines of Hurricane Music (Summer Bennett, Baraka, Nerve Shack). Mackenzie enlisted former NewFound Talent winner Darcy Scott on guitar, Madeline Carter of the Carter Girls on fiddle, and Hunter Madden of With Violet/Cabot Power on drums and bass.

Mackenzie Critch invites you to listen to “”Ain’t Me” on local radio and all major streaming platforms starting June 23nd, 2023
